Welcome and Bio

Welcome

Welcome to my site. I have been studying issues related to atheism since my high school years. I became an atheist in high school and changed my mind in early college after taking an introductory course in philosophy. I've been studying the issues ever since. My favorite band is still Bad Religion and even while having already become Christian, I discovered and grew to love the various speaking and debating presentations of Christopher Hitchens. Having put my time in to the Church and various disillusionments I have experienced due to the more natural and human side of the Church, I try to focus my attention on the questions which have persisted throughout my life. I have come to understand that I am most interested in the reasons why people believe as they do and I enjoy presenting a challenge to anyone I encounter for the reasons for their faith, theistic and atheistic, monotheistic and polytheistic, Christian, Jew, or Muslim, Protestant and Catholic, traditionalist, neo-conservative, and progressive. In just recent months I have engaged an evangelical Protestant at the local farmer's market, as well as what I would call an evangelical Atheist at a Starbucks. Turns out he is the brother of an old high school friend. He is part of a local podcast "ministry" or "apostolate" promoting atheism. Since I have been writing, engaging, and speaking on atheism for some years, I decided to develop yet another blog to organize my thoughts and responses to the Gospel According to St. Atheist.

Please feel free to engage the material found herein...

The material and ideas on these pages are my own and do not necessarily reflect the views of any of the organizations I work or volunteer for, nor the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.

I want to avoid my historical M.O. for this blog to be another manifestation of my tendency to exhibit narcissistic personality traits. As such, though I will sign some of my writings, I will try my hardest not to make this about me as many other apologists out there are about. I get it, that's your career/ministry/apostolate and you have families to support, or for the bottom-feeder apologists out there, those that just want to make a name for themselves. I don't need that anymore. My Google profile shows I have had 1.5 million views. Lol. More than Gerry Matatics! Probably not more than Scott Hahn. Who cares anyway?

I was raised a confused Catholic, became an athiest, became a theist, became a Protestant, became a Catholic, became a conservative Catholic, then traditionalost, then pseudo-sedevacantist, then back to traditional, and currently a moderately traditional and needing more improvement spiritually kind of Catholic. Hey, I'm still here, by the grace of God.

Bachelors in Psychology, Masters in Psychology, a semester in a doctorate program in clinical psychology. I have 11 years experience in K-12 education and 4 years experience teaching college courses in Psychology, and Child Development and Education. I currently work in the health care industry, specifically mental/behavioral health, as well as teach courses in Psychology at the college level.

Bottom line is, don't think you know me or my views before you ask me about them or read about them.
